Commemorative medal of WW2 instituted in 19146 the medal has crossed sabres on the ribbon The crossed sabres were awarded to participants in the campaign of May 1940 and later extended also to members of the armed resistance and the clandestine press.
1940 -1945 Prisoner of War medal with bar for 60 months of captivity. The medal was instituted on 20th October 1947 and was awarded to Belgian military that had been held as prisoners of war by the Axis powers.
